Your data
Delete your account and data
Deletion is permanent. It cannot be undone, and the data cannot be recovered afterwards.
There are two ways to do this. If you still have the app, deleting from inside it is immediate and needs nothing from anyone else. If the app is gone, you can ask for the same thing by email without reinstalling it.
Option 1
Delete it yourself, in the app
Immediate, and the fastest route if the app is still installed. It works for guest accounts as well as registered ones.
- Open Settings.
- Scroll to the Account section and choose Delete Account.
- Read what will be removed. The screen lists it, and warns that the action cannot be undone.
- If you registered with an email and password, confirm your identity by entering your password. Guest accounts skip this step.
- Confirm a second time. Nothing is removed until you do.
- Keep the app open while it works. It reports its progress as it removes your files, then your data, then the account itself.
If a step fails partway through, your account stays active so you can try again, and repeating the process is safe because anything already removed stays removed.
Option 2
Request deletion without the app
If you have uninstalled the app, changed device, or cannot sign in, you can ask for your account and data to be deleted by email. You do not need to reinstall anything.
This route is not available yet
No monitored email address has been published, so there is currently no way to request deletion from outside the app. Publishing an address nobody reads would be worse than saying so plainly.
For now, deletion has to be done from inside the app on a device where you can sign in. If you cannot do that, this page will carry a working address once one exists.
- No monitored privacy or support address exists, so there is no way to request deletion without the app installed. Publish a monitored address. Store policy expects an off-device deletion route in addition to the in-app one.
Confirming the account is yours
Before an account is deleted on request, we may need to confirm it belongs to you. That normally means replying from the email address on the account, or answering a question about it that only the account holder would know.
You will never be asked for your password. Not on this page, not by email, not by anyone claiming to be support. If you receive a message asking for it, it did not come from us. Do not send your password to anyone.
No processing time has been set for emailed requests, so this page does not claim one. Deleting from inside the app happens immediately.
What gets removed
Everything the app holds for your account, on the server and on the device you delete from.
- Your ExpiryNotifier account and your profile name and email
- Your category selections and any custom categories you created
- Every expiry item you saved, with its dates and details
- Every item photo you uploaded
- Reports generated for this account, and the list of recent reports
- Expiry reminders scheduled on the device you delete from
The app removes your uploaded files first, then your stored data, and only deletes the account itself once both have been confirmed gone. That order is deliberate: it means a failure partway through leaves something you can retry rather than an account you can no longer reach.
What stays behind
A few things are not part of your account, so deleting it does not touch them.
- Your appearance and time format choices
- These belong to the app on your device, not to your account.
- The flag recording that you finished the first-run introduction
- Also device-local, so the introduction does not reappear.
- The installation identifier used for support requests
- It identifies the installation rather than you, and is not linked to your account.
- Report files you already exported and saved or shared somewhere else
- Once you send a file elsewhere, it is outside the app’s reach.
- Support messages you sent earlier
- These live with a separate support service. See below.
Everything in that list except support messages and files you moved yourself is removed when you uninstall the app.
Support messages are separate
Messages you sent through Contact Support go to a service that is separate from your account, and the app has no way to request their deletion. The app says so on the deletion screen itself. If you want those removed as well, ask for it explicitly in your request. How long that service keeps them has not been documented yet, and this page will not guess.
